Sally Farr

Sally leads HSP’s west coast recruiting efforts and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.  As one of HSP’s most senior team members, Sally is responsible for client relationship management as well as search execution across all levels.  Sally joins HSP after spending over 13 years as an investment banker at Montgomery Securities where she worked with public and privately-held growth companies, primarily in the Consumer sector.  Sally is highly client-oriented and has advised numerous clients through the process of accessing the public markets, including many IPOs, raising early-round capital through private equity offerings, and conducting both buy- and sell-side M&A processes. During the second half of her tenure at Montgomery, Sally managed the Investment Banking Associate and Analyst programs, including the recruiting, training, staffing and ongoing mentoring of the Associates and Analysts.  She also coordinated and managed the annual compensation process for all non-partner professionals, worked closely with the CEO to support his leadership initiatives and hire a Chief of Staff, and represented Montgomery in meetings regarding the implementation of the integration process with its acquirer, NationsBank. Sally’s extensive experience at Montgomery, particularly identifying, developing and mentoring bankers, as well as her role as the primary interface between her clients and the firm, strongly influence her approach to recruiting.  Sally has been actively involved as a volunteer in several local educational foundations and community organizations.  Most recently, she served on the Executive Committee of the Stanford University Athletic Board, an advisory board which meets quarterly to discuss a wide range of strategic issues and make recommendations to the Athletic Director.  Sally graduated from Stanford University where she was a member of the varsity track team. She also obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
